Waste recycling center (Milieustraat)

Want to drop off your waste? You can only visit the recycling center (milieustraat) in Helmond by appointment. Easily schedule your visit and check the opening hours and important information below.

Important information

  • Address: Gerstdijk 1, 5704 RG Helmond (BZOB industrial park);
  • Payment by PIN only;
  • Maximum of 2 m³ per visit (no industrial waste);
  • Bring your ID;
  • Only for Helmond residents.

The waste recycling center is only for residents of the municipality of Helmond. To enter, you must be registered at a Helmond address in our database. This will be checked at the entrance. If your information is incorrect, you will not be allowed to enter. Residents from other municipalities and businesses (inside or outside Helmond) are not allowed to use the waste recycling center.

You must bring your ID (driver’s license, identity card, or passport). If your ID is not issued in Helmond, bring official mail showing your Helmond address, along with your ID.

You can visit the waste recycling center Monday to Friday: 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM, and on Saturday: 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM.

Opening hours during public holidays

  • Good Friday: regular hours;
  • Easter Sunday & Monday: closed;
  • King’s Day: closed;
  • Feast of the Ascension: closed (open on the Friday after Ascension Day from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM);
  • Pentecost (1st & 2nd day): closed;
  • Christmas Day & Boxing Day: closed;
  • New Year’s Day: closed.

Category 1 - free disposal

The following items can be disposed of for free:

  • Used (motor) oil (max. 10 liters)
  • Asbestos (max. 35 m² or ±15 sheets) – Always call first (0492 47 52 93) before bringing asbestos
  • Passenger car tires (without rims) (max. 5 pieces)
  • Electrical appliances (TVs, refrigerators, etc.)
  • EPS packaging material (clean styrofoam, tempex, or airpop)
  • Frying / cooking oil
  • Clean hard plastic
  • Iron and aluminum
  • Carcasses of small pets
  • Small chemical waste (SCW)
  • Diapers
  • Mattresses (max. 5 pieces)
  • Paper and cardboard
  • PMD (plastic packaging, metal packaging, beverage cartons)
  • Textiles and shoes (clean and dry – damaged items allowed)
  • Fluorescent tubes
  • Packaging glass (jars, bottles, etc.)
  • Flat glass (mirrors, windows, etc.)

  • Bulky residual waste
  • Passenger car tires (with rims, max. 5 pieces)
  • Clean soil (not chemically contaminated)
  • Leaves/grass

  • Max. 2 garbage bags of household waste

  • Stone waste (rubble, tiles, gravel, aerated concrete blocks, cement, roof tiles, plasterboard, asphalt)
